New house slabs
Full slab and footing systems for new dwellings.
Whether it's for a new house, granny flat or backyard shed, a concrete slab provides the foundation everything else gets built on. Slab work follows the relevant Australian Standards for residential slabs and footings, and cutting corners here tends to show up years later rather than immediately.
The right slab type depends on the site. Soil reactivity, the structure being built, and access all factor in before a design is settled.

Sized and specified for secondary dwellings and outbuildings.
Matched to tie in with an existing structure.
The groundwork stage, handled as part of the same job.
Reinforcement to specification, finished ready for the next trade.
Waffle pod slabs use polystyrene void formers under a grid of reinforced concrete ribs. They're a common choice on reactive clay soils across Western Sydney, since the void formers let the slab flex slightly with ground movement instead of cracking.
Raft slabs are a single reinforced slab spanning the whole footprint, generally more cost-effective than waffle pod on stable ground.
Slab on ground is the traditional direct-bearing approach: concrete poured directly onto a prepared, compacted base.
Infill slabs are used for extensions and additions, designed to tie into an existing slab or footing system.
Which one suits a given site comes down to soil classification and the structure being built. That gets confirmed at the on-site measure rather than guessed over the phone.
Anyone quoting a firm price before seeing your site is guessing. What we can tell you is what drives the number:
The single biggest factor.
Removing an existing surface costs more than working on prepared ground.
If the truck can't get close, concrete has to be barrowed or pumped.
Plain concrete costs less than exposed aggregate, coloured or stamped.
Slope, drainage and soil type all affect preparation.
