Decorative stamped and coloured concrete finishes

Getting a straight answer on concreting is harder than it should be.

Quotes that arrive a fortnight late, if at all. Prices that shift once work starts. Vague answers about what's under your existing driveway, or whether the truck can get down your side passage.

We come out, measure the site properly, and put the scope and the price in writing. If something could change the cost, like poor access, a slab that needs removing, or drainage that needs sorting, you'll hear about it at the quote stage instead of halfway through the pour.

A genuine differentiator

What does concreting actually cost?

Anyone quoting a firm price before seeing your site is guessing. What we can tell you is what drives the number:

Area

The single biggest factor.

What's there now

Removing an old slab costs more than pouring onto prepared ground.

Access

If the truck can't get close, concrete has to be barrowed or pumped.

Finish

Plain concrete costs less than exposed aggregate, coloured or stamped.

Site conditions

Slope, drainage and soil type all affect preparation.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does a concrete driveway take?
Most residential driveways take 2 to 4 days on site: preparation and formwork, the pour, then finishing. You'll need to keep off it for several days after. We'll give you exact timings for your job.
How long before I can drive on new concrete?
Generally around 7 days for vehicles, though this varies with weather, mix and thickness. We'll confirm for your specific pour.
Do I need council approval?
Often not for a like-for-like driveway replacement, but it depends on your council and whether you're altering the layout or the kerb crossing. We'll tell you what applies before you commit.
Can you concrete in winter?
Yes. Cold and wet weather affect curing and scheduling, so we plan around forecasts rather than pouring regardless.
Do you remove the old driveway?
Yes, removal and disposal can be included. It's itemised separately in your quote so you can see the cost.
What's the difference between plain, exposed aggregate and stamped?
Plain is a smooth or broomed finish. Exposed aggregate reveals the stone in the mix for texture and grip. Stamped is patterned to resemble pavers or stone. We'll show you completed examples of each.
Are you licensed and insured?
All concreting work is carried out by licensed, insured contractors. Licence and insurance details are provided in writing before any work is booked.
